Provides various programs for children, parents and families in Vancouver.
Crabtree Corner programs focus on supporting women who parent alone and grandparents raising children, so they feel more supported, connected and informed about programs and services that benefit their families. Many Crabtree Corner programs offer opportunities for caregivers and children to connect as a family, build strong bonds, and create special memories through free and fun activities. Programs include:

Nutritious Meals: Crabtree Corner Community Kitchen provides women and their families with free, nutritious breakfasts and lunches, five days a week. Breakfast hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 10:00 am. Lunch drop-in hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. No lunch on income assistance days.

Early Learning and Child Care: Crabtree Corner Early Learning and Child Care Centre provides free, licensed, short-term early learning and care for children, available by booking. There is space for up to 24 children from six weeks to their sixth birthday, for up to 72 hours a month. Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. Reservations for the following week are taken by phone only, each Wednesday. Please call 604-216-1655 between 1:00 pm and.1:30 pm to reserve a child’s spot. After 1:30 pm, please call 604-216-1650.

My Tween and Me: My Tween and Me assists caregivers raising children aged seven to 12. The program helps parents develop the confidence to positively influence and support their children during the transition to adolescence, promoting the development of self-esteem, self-awareness, positive decision-making, and relationship skills in young people. Nobody's Perfect Parent Program: Nobody's Perfect is an education and support program for caregivers of children aged six and under. In six weekly group sessions, participants work together to learn and share positive parenting skills. Child-minding, dinner and bus tickets are provided. Single Mothers' Support Group: In a safe and comfortable environment, mothers who are parenting alone meet weekly to exchange information and resources, support each other and build networks. Mothers find companionship, community and help shape each other's happiness and success. Child-minding is provided. CAPC Parenting Group: A group for mothers eager to support their children and themselves in healthy, sustainable ways. Mothers find resources, build connections and access services. It also provides referrals, as well as one-to-one and group support. For families with at least one child aged six years and under. CAPC Support Worker: One-to-one support for families with at least one child aged six and under. Supports include helping mothers find resources and referrals, building connections, and accessing services. Groups run once every two weeks on Thursdays, currently meeting virtually. My New Home for Latinx Mothers: This group, led in Spanish, is designed for Latin immigrant mothers, offering monthly sessions on parenting, settlement, cultural adaptation, available services, and self-care. The group hosts volunteer facilitators from community partners, provides a healing space and reduces barriers while creating community connections. Every two weeks on Wednesdays at 11:00 am. Food, Facts and Fun: An interactive program that shares healthy eating habits while increasing food security for mothers and their families. Participants explore their connection to nutrition and community-building through food. After each session, participants receive a food hamper with ingredients for the meal served that day. FASD Support Group / Sacred Circle : This 10-week support group provides information, referrals and support services to pregnant women, mothers and their families who are impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Two cycles a year. Sessions run every Thursday during cycles. For more information, please contact: swinkler@ywcavan.org | 604-512-8600.

Intergenerational Grandparents' Group : Intergenerational Grandparents' Group is for grandparents who are raising grandchildren or the children of other family members, and whose children are living with FASD. This program provides peer support, community resources, information about FASD and connections to other YWCA programs. For more information: Call 604-216-1656.

Saturday Family Activity Program: The Saturday Family Activity Program gives families the opportunity to spend quality time together and fosters the discovery of new interests and hobbies. The group facilitates trips to local attractions, such as Science World and the Vancouver Aquarium, and hosts activities like birthday parties and holiday carolling. A meal is provided with each activity. To sign up, please call 604-216-1653 and leave a message stating the number of family members attending.

Family Outreach Worker: The Family Outreach Worker meets with women one-to-one to assist with accessing income or disability assistance; provides accompaniments to doctors, court, school and/or ministry appointments. They also help with access to other available community resources and provide emotional support. Books, Bags, and Babies group: The Books, Bags, and Babies group is an early literacy program that welcomes caregivers and children. It incorporates Indigenous storytelling, crafts and cultural teachings to encourage early childhood literacy and strengthen family bonds.

Music Together group: Music Together is a weekly mother and child activity group that connects families through music. Activities are inclusive and suit children of diverse ages and abilities. Each week, 12 families come together to sing, learn to play instruments, listen to music, and dance.

FASD Key Worker: The FASD Key Worker provides support for families and children who have been diagnosed with, or show signs of experiencing, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder or similar neurological conditions.

AIDP worker: The Aboriginal Infant Development Worker provides support to Indigenous families whose children under six may be at risk of or have been diagnosed with a developmental delay.
