Kitsilano-Fairview Mental Health and Substance Use Services

Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health

Program serves clients over the age of 19 who are diagnosed with a major mental illness and experiencing significant problems that interfere with their functioning in the community.
Clients primarily fall into one of two categories:
  • Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
  • Mood disorders, i.e. bipolar and major depressive disorders
Multi-disciplinary services are provided through eight mental health teams and a variety of specialized programs.

Services are also provided to people who have co-occurring disorders such as personality disorders, substance abuse/misuse, mental challenges, etc. A multidisciplinary mental health team provides interdisciplinary, goal-oriented services in the clinic and community, including individual and group treatments.

Services include: Services include case management, employment support, medical management, occupational therapy, peer support, recreation therapy, crisis management, and transition coordination. Services involve the client and family.

A referral can be initiated by the person affected, family/support, or health care professional by contacting the Access and Assessment Centre (AAC). Please see the number below.
